We are growing our team at Marianhill in response to the new Fixing Long-Term Care Act. We are increasing the number of staff and to assist with this growth in our organization.

Marianhill is currently recruiting Part-Time Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) for work in our long-term care home. All qualified applicants are welcome.

Marianhill is a faith based, not-for-profit organization that provides long-term care, community support services, palliative and hospice care services. Marianhill is accredited with Exemplary Standing.

Registered Practical Nurse

Under the supervision of the Unit Manager and Registered Nurse, the Registered Practical Nurse is required to assist with the planning, co-coordination, and provision of resident care. Such duties are performed in accordance with the Marianhill’s Mission Statement, established policies and procedures, and current legislation in a manner that respects the uniqueness, dignity, worth, self-respect and self-determination of the resident and promotes maximum independence.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Nursing Foot Care Level I and II required.
  • Certificate from an approved Drug Therapy Program if graduated prior to the current curriculum, which includes the medication course.
  • Certificate in phlebotomy required.
  • At least two years’ experience in Long Term Care required.
  • Experience in mental health, palliative care and rehabilitation desirable.
  • Membership within the RPNAO considered an asset.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English is required.
  • Oral and written proficiency in French is an asset.

Wage: CUPE 2764 Collective Agreement, hourly $33.67-$34.20 (currently under negotiations) + 14% in lieu of benefits. New hires start at the top of the wage scale ($34.20 per hour).

Shifts – Varied, to be discussed.

Please note proof as per Marianhill policy of required vaccinations, including but not limited to influenza, etc., is required as well as proof of a 2-Step Mantoux TB Skin Test dated within the last year with a current updated 1-Step. You will be required to provide an original, clear vulnerable sector criminal record check dated within the last 6 months and be able to sign a declaration at time of hire. Education certificate, diploma or otherwise must be provided to the Employer and you must participate in the N95 Mask Fit Testing Program as applicable.
