Hospice Palliative Care at Marianhill

The staff of the financial department are available to assist residents and families Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays) from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Accommodation rates are set annually by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. It is expected that these payments be made to Marianhill at the first of each month. If an applicant cannot afford the basic accommodation rate, the Ministry will provide a subsidy to ensure that Marianhill is accessible to all who are eligible for care.

Ontario citizens aged 65 years and over are guaranteed a comfort allowance once accommodation fees are paid. Ask about the various assistance programs including Rate Reduction and Exceptional Circumstance. Our finance department can assist you with these applications.

Additional services not included in the monthly accommodation fee, include:

  • Hairdressing/Barbering
  • Personal Telephone and internet Services
  • Cable TV
  • Dental Care
  • Advanced Foot Care
  • Dry Cleaning
  • Companion costs for transportation to medical appointments (please see nursing staff for details)

Trust Accounts
For residents living in the licensed long-term care beds, a trust account may be established with the Marianhill finance department to assist with payment of additional services and to provide access to funds for personal spending. Residents can arrange to have their pension cheque deposited directly to their trust account. Trust account statements are provided each month. It is recommended that the balance not exceed $500.
