Part Time PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKERS

Skills and Abilities

• Must be courteous and friendly to visitors and work in a cooperative manner with fellow workers.
• Good communication skills required.
• Must demonstrate a genuine concern and interest in the well being of the resident.
• Must have the ability to be tactful, friendly and extremely patient when interacting with the resident.
• Must have the physical capabilities compatible with the current physical demands analysis for this position.

Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker Certificate required (minimum of 600 hours in duration, counting both class time and practical experience time)
• Ability to work with computerized records required.
• Food Handlers training is an asset.
• Experience working in Long Term Care facility setting is an asset.
• Experience working in Geriatric Mental Health and dementia is an asset.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) is an asset.
• Oral and written proficiency in English is required.
• Excellent attendance is essential.

Hours of Work:   Varied shifts.

Rate of Pay:  CUPE 2764 Collective Agreement, hourly $28.91 – $29.71 hourly.
