Part Time Janitor

We are growing our team to enhance the care at Marianhill in response to the new Fixing Long-Term Care Act.  Therefore, we require more staff. As a result, we are recruiting for a Part Time Janitor

 

Marianhill is a faith based, not-for-profit organization that provides long-term care, complex continuing care, community support services, palliative and hospice care services. Marianhill is accredited with Exemplary Standing.

Janitor

Under the direction of the Manager of Environmental Services, the Janitor is responsible for performing janitorial duties throughout the building and creating a clean and pleasant atmosphere for residents and staff.  Such duties are performed in accordance with Marianhill’s Mission Statement, established policies, procedures and current legislation and in a manner which respects the uniqueness, dignity, worth, self-respect, self-determination and autonomy of the client and promotes maximum independence.

 

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education is required.
  • One-year experience in the operation of commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper chemical mixing procedures.
  • Experience working with geriatrics and dementia care is an asset.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English is required.
  • Oral and written proficiency in French is considered an asset.
  • Excellent attendance is essential.

 

Wage: $23.27 – $23.95 per hour per local Collective Agreement 2764

Please note proof as per Marianhill policy of required vaccinations, including but not limited to influenza, etc., is required as well as proof of a 2-Step Mantoux TB Skin Test dated within the last year with a current updated 1-Step. You will be required to provide an original, clear vulnerable sector criminal record check dated within the last 6 months and be able to sign a declaration at time of hire. Education certificate, diploma or otherwise must be provided to the Employer and you must participate in the Annual Influenza Program and N95 Mask Fit Testing Program as applicable.
